The Chi-Town Collaboration We Wanted

Kid Cudi and Kanye West. Quite the duo.

Kid Cudi, Scott Mescudi, signed to Kanye West's GOOD Music label and released his mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, in 2008. Released that same year, Kanye's 808s & Heartbreak featured Cudi's vocals and writing on various tracks. The two have been collaborating since. In 2018, Kanye inexhaustibly featured on and produced numerous albums. Fortunately, he found time to work with Cudi to form KIDS SEE GHOSTS and release their eponymous 7-track album.

KIDS SEE GHOSTS features Kanye's emphatic production and Cudi's melodious approach to hip hop, which initially drew me into the world of rap. Their collabs delighted over the preceding decade, but the prospect of an entire project shaped by the duo delighted even more so. And it does precisely that. Powerfully.

Thanks, Wyoming Sessions.
