Hailing from Australia, the psychedelic rock band Tame Impala is largely the project of founder Kevin Parker. Parker writes, performs, records, and produces the music on his own, but tours with a full band. Tame Impala's music, both singles and albums, have been hugely successful and earned the band a substantial following.

Currents is the follow-up album to Lonerism and features more of the reverb, strong melodies, and experimental sounds that power up Kevin Parker's creative voice. Currents will release this Friday, but can be played now on NPR First Listen.
