The follow-up to To Pimp A Butterfly, DAMN, is less focused on a specific narrative than his previous masterworks. Less focused, but no less powerful or conceptual. Contradiction and confusion and polarizing forces surface in the lyrics and emotions of this album. Good spirits struggle with bad spirits. No one does it like Kendrick. Raw, dense, poignant, and transcendental.
