Person Pitch by Panda Bear
An Anniversary For Eclectic Animal Sounds
Panda Bear: a spirit animal favorite and the bizarre mastermind behind many a catchy avant-pop tune. Some know him from the experimental pop group Animal Collective, and many more have heard his voice on Daft Punk's song "Doin' It Right." If your tastes haven't been quite eclectic enough to venture into Noah Lennox's (Panda Bear's) forest then you're in for a treat. Just be prepared for an astounding number of noises and you might not have a bad trip.
Panda Bear released Person Pitch ten years ago today on March 20th, 2007. Critically acclaimed, the album has been a prominent influence in the indie music scene and every hipster-music-snob magazine considers it one of the greatest albums to come out of the 2000's. Panda Bear layers sugary hooks and lollipop beats beautifully. After one too many bamboo shoots, he adds those layers again. Once the nausea of motion sickness passes it truly becomes sweet, sweet music.
Thanks, Tylar.
