James Blake, a 27-year-old singer-songwriter/producer from London, has spent his life earning nominations and winning awards for his R&B-tinged electronic music. Much of his music features his voice angelically warbling beneath and above electronic textures and rhythms, the sounds of James Blake are distinct and frankly pretty damn awesome.

"Modern Soul" adequately describes the particular sound James Blake has been refining, and he seems to have done so on his third studio album, The Colour in Anything. Blake peels back the noise on his tracks, baring their complexity as his voices tiptoe along their frosty ribs.
