Brand New is a hardcore, alternative rock band originating in Long Island. Jesse Lacey has served as the primary songwriter and frontman throughout their four album career. During that career, the band has progressed through flavors of rock from punk to hardcore to emo with a soul growing increasingly raw and alluring.

Their third album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, finds Brand New somewhere between the punk riffs and hooks of Deja Entendu and the twisted noise rock of Daisy. A good fit for those too mature for the pinings of punk on Deja Entendu and too brittle for the jagged anxiety of Daisy.
