The Ever Profound Oberst

Conor Oberst has been active singing and writing music since his early teens. Even in those early years he was performing in front of audiences in his hometown of Omaha and being noticed for his songwriting talents. In the past twenty-odd years he's participated in numerous bands and projects writing emotional, sincere, gritty indie music from folk to rock to punk to electronic: Desaparecidos, Bright Eyes, Mystic Valley Band, and Monsters of Folk all feature Conor's prolific talents.

Conor Oberst released the solo album, Upside Down Mountain, in 2014. Here he expresses a somewhat more optimistic and compositionally matured outlook, but with the powerfully poetic and melodic core Conor's wavery voice always brings to his songs. Enjoy our contemporary Bob Dylan.
